The Big G Goes For It

I'll join the crowd and start my own list here. First article:
dropfruit
Species | Apr 1, 2025

Dropfruits are famously fragile, unable to survive being shipped by traditional sail. Only since the conduits opened have they been enjoyed on islands where they don't grow.

Technically I finished it after midnight, but since I'm far enough east of the International Date Line I figure it still counts for March 1.

Welcome to the challenge! I look forward to seeing what you write!

Third article:
Shemda
Character | Apr 1, 2025

Shemda is one of the more reclusive Eddy Water Seekers. Thanks to her past experiences, she doesn't trust any non-Seeker.

Welcome to the challenge! I look forward to seeing what you write!

Ha ha, me too! It'll probably end up mostly a roster of who's at the Eddy.   By the way, do you get a notification for every message posted to the boards?
Tue, Mar 4th 2025 10:21

I have been following all the threads, so yep!

Fifth article:
Ayshan
Character | Apr 1, 2025

Ayshan is a Tiderider with a mysterious (and slightly tragic) origin, but also ambitions for leaving her mark on the world.

Question: Must each day's article be written on the day it is to be posted? I ask because I have a vacation coming up in the last week of March. I will be spending two days traveling, and can't guarantee I'll have the time or opportunity to write. It would be nice if I can "pre-write" an article and then publish it the following day.
Thu, Mar 6th 2025 02:58

The goal is to make the time to write even when it is difficult - but not to make the goal so high you can't do it on the hard days. I've written articles on my phone in airports before, just to keep myself in the habit of writing daily. That being said, life happens - no streak can last forever.

Sixth article:
Ardez
Character | Apr 1, 2025

Even after thirty years, Ardez is still notorious for her work as second in command of the Wringers.

This was once published with about 75 words in it, but I pulled it down ages ago with the intent to do major repairs. Today I scrapped the old material and started over.

*knuckle crack* Then here we go.   I will write while on the plane.
I will write on subway train.
On the bus and in the car,
Write articles where'er I are.   No WiFi? I can write offline.
No battery? It's notebook time.
The lights are out? I'll think my way.
Just have to post before next day.

Love that poem!

Seventh article:
Shend
Character | Apr 1, 2025

Shend's skill in sensing individual auras is the main reason for the common belief that Wringers could read minds.

I've been assuming I'm allowed to edit previously posted articles, but it can't hurt to ask: is there any limitation on expanding stuff I've already written for this challenge?
Sat, Mar 8th 2025 10:18

Nope, you can expand on old articles. The core of the challenge is the daily word count; you could add that to the same article each day and it would be good.

Got the multipass page for Tkevsa Engine, which looks very interesting!
Tue, Apr 1st 2025 06:43

Thirty-first article:
We Will Not Go to the Mountain
Myth | Apr 1, 2025

A silly children's play teaches that long journeys are made of a series of short ones.

And that's it! Success! Thank you so much for hosting this challenge. It was tough and I made many questionable bedtime decisions, but it got me to write about a lot of things I've been ignoring for a long time.

Getting a multipass error on the hub
Thu, Apr 3rd 2025 01:50

Did I really do that? For a fourth time? Oh yes. Yes I did. Of course I did.
