Ardez

As a former Wringer, Ardez is one of the oldest and most experienced Water Seekers currently in residence at the Eddy. Her strength is in large-scale workings, and she coordinates the other Seekers in raising the Dancinglight's Dome around visiting boats.
While Ardez is not as reclusive as Istlourn, she still keeps a respectful distance when guests are on the island. Her past as a Wringer has given her a nasty reputation that she feels she doesn't really deserve, but she doesn't want to jeopardize the Cluster Islands' support of the Water Seekers by making people uncomfortable.

Personal history

Like the rest of Kezlaf's children, Ardez began learning to manipulate water before she was five years old. At ten she officially joined the active Wringer squad, even though she never succeeded in learning wringing. It was because of her skill in controlling large quantities of water that she was promoted to Wringer Two when she was thirteen.
Kezlaf never traveled anywhere without Ardez, relying on her as his primary bodyguard. Her loyalty to him was strong, and she remained supportive even when other Wringers began turning against him. During the Dissolvers' attack on Mraydor, her siblings had to incapacitate her in order to carry out their plan.
Only after the success of the uprising did Ardez begin to understand the devastation that Kezlaf was responsible for. It was an unpleasant shock to discover that several of the new island governments were calling for her execution as well as Istlourn's. She accepted banishment to the Eddy as an alternative, bitterly at first, but eventually coming to appreciate the sense of stillness that has drawn Water Seekers here for thousands of years.

Accomplishments & Achievements

When enhanced by a lightning wheel, Ardez can raise a ship-high wave on her own or convert seemingly empty air into a wall of water. These skills saved Kezlaf's life multiple times.

Failures & Embarrassments

Ardez was never capable of the fine-control tuning Kezlaf wanted from his Wringers. Her attemps all ended, as she puts it, "badly".
