Midlands

While the offiicial name of the central continent is Helvenia, most around Errath refer to it simply as "The Midlands". The name came originally from the Helvenic Empire's insistence that it was the center of the world, but with the discovery of Alkay the continent is very much a central point for trade around The March.
While all lands in the March have seen their share of war, since the fall of the Helvenic Empire the nations of the Midlands have seen an almost constant state of conflict. This led to competing alliances, diplomatic actions, and espionage that finally culminated in the Dragon War. With the resolution, the nations of the Midlands have found themselves battered and drained; needing to rebuild with very little resources left to do so.
