Helgest (Hell-guest)
The nation of Helgest long dominated the eastern Midlands continent, growing and shrinking over the centuries as it sought expand it's empire. Claiming descendance from dragons, the imperial line valued power in many forms, and their country maintained a fixed pride, seeing itself as the true heir to the Helvenic Empire. These beliefs were put to the final test when the last Drachenkaiser chose to unite the Midlands under his banner through any means, launching the world-spanning Dragon War, and eventually leading to his nation's demise.
Disbandment
Following the Resolution, the nation of Helgest was no more. Few have made it far into the Midlands since to learn what befell it. Remnants of the Imperial forces have had to get by on their own, with some dissolving, others trying to seize local power, and others becoming mercenary bands. Helguestian ex-patriots are left alone, though some have tried to look out for each other. Many choose to acknowledge their homeland no more.
