C2 Overarching Story

For campaign 2 we are going to use the idea of reincarnation and a plot to resurrect the Dark One back into the world of the living.  The great lich king known as Aer'Chabadzael has a domain of dread that he rules over.  There are immortal beings known as the Fallen who seek to return their Dark Lord to the material plane.  Several of them have banded together to accomplish their goal, but like many who worship evil they often clash with each other.  
Over five thousand years ago in the second age there were epic heroes who fought the fallen and imprisoned the Dark One in his domain of dread.  These heroes died and their legacies forgotten.  Now our players are the reincarnation of these heroes and they will slowly find this out over the next couple of years.  
[Note: one of the Fallen will try to assemble a cannon large enough to shoot the smaller moon and create a shatterfall, this will tie in with Dave's character and the two moons]

The Seven Great Heroes of the Second Age -

Here are the brief descriptions of our ancient heroes who are PC's will be reincarnations of.  These heroes of the second age all had flaws and goals that they did not accomplish before they died.  Many of their mistakes led to the Dark One, Aer'chabadzael living and becoming a lord of his dark domain. By failing to defeat the Fallen and destroy the Dark One they must be reincarnated to redeem themselves. 
Encealadus Calwyn - Human man who fought in the human / elven wars 
Verilius Treta Rivendrias - An elven hero of the second age.
Shaanth'Ah Kubrickar - A great Half-orc hero of the second age.
The Artful Badger - A tiefling woman who was a famous rogue in the second age. Her real name was Kelindria Redhorn.  
Estellevan Rez'Doh Goldscale - A female dragon born sorceror who sacrificed herself to save thousands of lives in the second age.
Acer Alderleaf Greenshanks - A famous Green elven Ranger from the second age. 
Roaritun "Firehoof" Ebonclad - A famous warrior of the second age. He was a fire genasi wizard whose power rivaled that of the Fallen.

The Fallen -

Unctuous Virtue - He used to be an Elven man in Tanaheim who went by the name of Galen Galedus. A popular figure in the Forest lands he travelled throughout the land

At some point he went to an oracle who operated in the Mankata Mega structure. He demanded she tell him his fate and she gave him a riddle to decipher. The riddle is lost to time but the end result was that he discovered his true father was the Old God Mankata who had sired him with an elven woman. His Demi god status drove him to greater and greater feats and the pursuit of power. He eventually amassed enough power to begin the steps given to him by the gods to achieve his full potential. He completed the Unctuous Tasks as written by the famous poet Almallaron and became a god himself. Once in the veiled sanctum though his pride and need for power overtook him once again. He began to pit Kierkelon against Corsun and began a dangerous civil war between the old gods and the new. Once Hellenox discovered his insidious plans he was stripped of his godhood and cast out into the planes of hell. Eventually he escaped and renamed himself Unctuous Virtue and he roams the planes granting power to those that will serve him and his own ends.

Lord Vedemire Darkhorse - A half elven man from the Second age who studied Necromancy. In the first half of his life he earned a fortune in building prisons and profiting off of law enforcement.  It is said that he became obsessed with the Dark One and pledged himself in the later years of his life.  The dark one cured his fatal cancer and gave him immortality.  Since then Lord Darkhorse has been looking for ways to free the Dark One from his prison to be granted more power and rule by the Dark One's Side. 
In Porsk - The town is under the rule of House Quail and has been for almost 400 years. At this point the rule is almost ceremonial like many of the cities and towns of the Eigerlands. The current head of the house in Porsk is the Baroness Gillian Offerdahl Quail. She is an older human woman but fiercely intelligent. Her current goal is to fend off the takeover of the main government by a group of dwarven ministers from Stoneport. She also has taken a strange man as her Paramour by the name Ionn Castaliogne...

Isringus - Isringus claims to be a demigod, the son of the god Mankata.  No one really knows the truth as Isringus is a master of lies and has been spinning them for over five thousand years.  He may be the most dangerous of the Fallen because of his lack of allegiance and loyalty.  Even the other Fallen often distrust him and accuse him of not showing proper deference to their dark lord.

Electra the Unseen - trapped in the sarcophagus created by Roaritun "Firehoof" Ebonclad back in SF 2 4325, Electra hasn't been awake in almost 5000 years. 

Conflict

Krullocs - Mutated bipedal creatures created by Lord Vedemire Dark Horse. He has unleashed these creatures to hunt down heroes or anyone who gets in his way.

Organizations and Characters involved with the Dark One - 
The City of Warshaw
Sava Cogson - the first created warforged of Cog.  He walks the land investigating brutal crimes and solving mysteries.  He is currently located in Warshaw monitoring the rise of a fascist figure as they take over the government there. 
Revetan the Reclaimer - The warforged creation of the demigod Isringus, he was the answer to the warforged Cog and was supposed to be Cog's destruction.  Failing throughout the years to kill Cog or other members of Adventure Team Grimm, he now has set his sights on ruling the city of Warshaw.  He means to take it over and begin a series of wars conquering the Eigerlands.  If he gets some assistance from the Dark One he welcomes it.
