Melorian Pantheon

While Meloria professes itself to be a majority-human population, its location in the Plains, large quantities of commerce and trade from all over, and close proximity to various other traditions make the gods its people worship particularly unique. In addition to the traditional gods of humans of old, other gods have joined from the Seldarine, the Lords of the Golden Hills, and the Kornic and other Orcish gods.   The first gods worshipped in Meloria were the Great Spirits venerated by the Orcs, who originally held the land that Meloria now occupies. After humans came to the area, they set up shop with their own deities, brought from the ashes of their old homes. As time went on, the gods morphed, taking on characteristics of the land around them, and other gods were added or absorbed into existing deities from the pantheons of other races. The primary deities of Meloria are still the human ones, however much they may not resemble the originals.   This article is by no means complete, and is a general overview of the major gods honored in Meloria, with a focus on the human pantheon.

Human Pantheon

Of the gods that came with the humans, only the major ones survived to the present day, and are now honored in temples found in the Temple District of the Entertainment Sector. The deities that are worshipped include

Non-Human Deities

While the deities previously discussed are human in origin (or presumed to be), the people of Meloria do pay homage to certain other gods, notably major Gnomish and Elven gods.

Lords of the Golden Hills

The Lords are the major gods of the gnomes; they include
  • Garl Glittergold, greater god of luck, humor, trickery, and gems; the leader of the gnomish pantheon.
  • Callarduran Smoothhands, god of stone, mining, and the deep gnomes.
  • Segojan Earthcaller, god of death and the deep earth.
  • Flandal Steelskin, god of smithing and metalworking.
  • Baervan Wildwanderer, god of nature, travel, and forests.
  • Baravar Cloakshadow, god of illusion and deception.
  • Gaerdal Ironhand, god of vigilance, defense, and combat.
In addition to the Lords, the gnomes also worship several smaller deities, including Albis Litsooth, a goddess of healing and children. The gnomish gods do not have their own temples; instead, a singular temple is designated for Garl and Baravar, and most gnomes are encouraged to say prayers to their gods in the temples of human gods who rule over similar subjects. Most gnomes choose to instead worship either at home or in the Temple of the Plethora, a temple near Kelemvor's that is designated for those travelers whose gods are not represented in the rest of the temples.

The Seldarine

The Seldarine is the name given to the elven pantheon; while some of their deities are mentioned above, other major gods worshipped in Meloria include
  • Corellon Larenthian, leader of the Seldarine; god of magic, warfare, music, art, and crafts.
  • Aerdrie Faenya, goddess of the wind and weather.
  • Sehanine Moonbow, goddess of the moon, dreams, mysteries, secrets, travel/journeys; she is also the protector of the elven dead and patron of the moon elves.
  • Labelas Enoreth, deity of time, history, and knowledge.
  • Rillifane Rallathil, god of nature, woodlands, and wood elves.
  • Erevan Ilesere, god of trickery, mischief, and rogues.
  • Vandria Gilmadrith, deity of war, justice, and grief.
  • Fenmarel Mestarine, god of outcasts, scapegoats, and isolation.
  • Naralis Analor, god of healing, suffering, and death.
The Seldarine also includes other gods, not specifically worshipped by elves in Meloria. Of the Seldarine, only Corellon and Sehanine have their own temples; a small section of the Binder's Scroll is set aside for applicants to Labelas, and Rillifane is often appealed to in the Great Garden. Other deities may be appealed to in the Temple of the Plethora, or in temples dedicated to human gods with similar roles.
