Lady Selûne of Silver
the Night White Lady
Selûne, also called the Night White Lady, is the human goddess of the moon and stars, navigation, and seekers. Her symbol is a pair of dark human eyes surrounded by seven stars. Her Melorian temple is called the Moonmaiden's Solace, and has fallen into disrepair in recent years, as many of her city acolytes have left on explorations from which they haven't returned. The fifth month of the Pinarian year, Lûne, is named after her, and it is considered an auspicious time to begin a voyage.
Selûne is one of the eldest of the gods, and goes by different names in different areas of the world, including Bright Nydra, Lucha, and the Moonmaiden. Many scholars debate whether Selûne and Sehanine Moonbow of the Seldarine are the same goddess, or if they are simply similar in nature. Selûne is considered a changeable goddess, whose demeanor and qualities change with the phases of the moon. She is closely linked to Mystra, and is the twin sister of Shar.
