Our Lady of Mysteries and Spells

Mystra is the goddess of magic, spells, and all those who use them. She is closely affiliated with Selûne as fellow knowledge-seekers. Mystra is a secretive goddess, and many rumors abound about her true origin; these range from Mystra being a primordial goddess from before time, to her being a human magic user who eventually gathered enough knowledge to ascend to the rank of goddess.
As she advocates for magical research and item creation without limitations or the strict documentation that Meloria requires of its magical researchers, her worship is semi-officially banned in Meloria. Although many families still worship her privately in their homes, her old Melorian temple, the Mysteries, is currently abandoned, and is under heavy guard. The eighth month of the year, Myst, is named after her. It is believed that magical undertakings work better during this month, especially those of a refined or learned nature.

Iconography is normally of a veiled woman in a long and flowy dress; any other features vary depending on location and depiction. No known sightings on the mortal plane have occurred, only in the dream-world.
