First Scribe Deneir
Deneir is the god of scribes and scholars, also known as the First Scribe or Scribe of Oghma. He is one of the Gods of Invention, along with Gond and Oghma, although he is much more closely tied to Oghma. Some temples of Oghma include smaller shrines to Deneir, often areas in which scribes can work. In Meloria, Deneir is considered a lesser god, and is often lumped in with Oghma as his right hand man. Melorian followers of Oghma may honor Deneir in cataloguing works of knowledge. In other areas, Deneir is worshipped in his own right, particularly in areas where the making of maps is especially prized.
Deneir rules over the creation of art; as such, he is known as the Lord of All Glyphs and Images. His domain includes the visual arts of painting, drawing, cartography, as well as transcription. Despite this, Deneir scorns depictions of himself, and is therefore nicknamed "Private One" by some of his followers.
