Lurker Threshold
Geography
The threshold is a bowl-shaped piece of space that bends around the arafel barrier. It is one of the known manidweepan boundaries to encompass human occupied space. The other border regions being Sunyata and Nostrum.
Ecosystem
Either inspite of -or because of- the vast empty expanse, there are only a few species of creatures that evolved at such a scale as to bare closer similarities to planets and stars.
Ecosystem Cycles
Ethereal Duo: Hothtaaz and Harmpannetsu
Hothtaaz is a worm-like entity that is ever sleeping. Even though it is partly coiled in the vast edges of known Manidweepa, it is still large enough to take up the space of an entire universe.
Magnetic distortions most often manifest across Hothaaz's surface that can destroy most things caught in it. Though rare, these manifestations can radiate out of Hothtaaz's bodily atmosphere and wreak havoc.
Due to num compulsive need to sing and make music; num acoustic waves act as the only effective counter to the chaotic reality waves that roll off his skin. It is believed that Harmpannetsu was tricked and entrapped to serve forever as Hothtaaz's warden.
As such, nu can never leave the Threshold.
Reality Waves
Manidweepa separates multiple planes of existence, each with their own physical laws that can contradict each other. It is not widely believed that Manidweepa has any physical laws of its own. Rather, the laws of physics in any of the other 11 hypothetically connected portals leak into the in-between at different sectors like liquid from a broken main. They then diffuse through the protoplasm in waves until they mix with the metaphysical properties being transferred from opposite directions in a fight for metaphysical existence. Equilibrium can, and has, been established in multiple variations through its history with some becoming more dominate in the mix than others. Though all these leaks are technically reality waves, and they happen all the time, worry comes to the forefront when one portal releases a virtual tsunami of it laws of reality. There is no discernable cause for huge reality waves.Localized Phenomena
Natural columns of purplish energy that erupt like geysers from Hothtaaz's many eyes and illuminate the space wherever they fly.
This phenomenon is useful in 'pinging' the great distances to measure its composition. It is through this means that arafel was discovered. The distancing light would collide and scatter in a consistent way that outlined a gigantic sphere.

Living Stars: Living manifestations of white and purple flames condensed into giant orbs.
Planet Eaters: Cosmic scale predators of a rich variety of shapes who lazily prowl the verse in a semi-hibernating state.
Pretend Planets: Spherical planetary-sized creatures that ambush larger species via cryptic aggressive mimicry.
