Miracle

Prayer is the act of seeking aid from on high. It requires the petitioner to chant a liturgical verse in order to achieve the desired effects. Mostly used to ask for guidance or to heal the sick. Occasionally used to defend the meek. Some use it for less honorable means to enforce their will on those they are meant to protect. Faith is the central component of being granted a miracle. Both of the petitioner and of the recipient, if they are different. The Church of the Great Mother used the power of miracles to galvanize support in their cause and to rally against those who sought to undermine their authority in the past.
With every gate their power increases until the final gate is opened. Once that is opened there is a direct connection made between them, as their Halo becomes known to the alfsir, connecting them with a single thread of Vita. The thread acts as a tether bridging the realms.

Side/Secondary Effects

Uses heat energy as fuel and leaves cold spots in its wake. Either from the air or the earth itself. Leaves those in the vicinity of its use in a state of peace and tranquility.

Manifestation

When prayers are answered a palpable hum accompanied by a high pitched whine can be heard, followed by a searing white light as the specific petition is met and the weave of reality is re-stitched.

Priests are empowered by the deities of the Cirvaeon pantheon. They swear to a Covenant with the halls of the Alfsir in service to the gods. There are levels to the covenant. Through faithful service to the church one can progress from the invocation to the supplication and exhortation, followed by the benediction, and lastly the exultation. Through faithful service to the gods one can earn a boon as well.

Discovery

After repelling the Einjar and retaking Catior during the Bra Krig, the Alfsir visited the Aeonian summoners and granted them the chance at the covenant. Many believed it was a reward for successfully defeating the enemy of the gods.

Gestures & Ritual

Miracles require a specific verse from their sacred doctrines be read aloud which empowers a specific gate. Each prayer has an intended goal and is meant as a petition to the gods. Some are simply an affirmation of one's faith and will work every time, such as physical buffs, so long as they believe. Sometimes it's a request for an action to occur; the gods may answer but often times they don't, and when they do it is in their own time.

Applied Restriction

Only those whose names are recorded in the Alfsir Halls can call on the tangible power of prayer. A closely guarded church secret, officials make the covenant when they attain a certain level within the organization. As they progress up the ranks, they are granted more access via increased knowledge of celestial secrets documented in the Book of the Cirvaeon.
