The Beggar Man
With subtle eyes and silent feet
Investigators watch the street
And if and when they raise the heat
Hope the Beggar Man stays sweet. The lucky pass the Beggar Man's trial
With smarts and wits By Daylight and Guile
The trickster path is quite in style
To the Garden we will go.The Beggar Man's verse from The Song of the Eight.
Divine Domains
The Beggar Man's alignment is Chaotic Neutral, and his portfolio includes trickery, luck and beggars. His cleric domains are Charm, Freedom, Luck, Solitude, Travel, Trickery, Vermin and Whimsy, and his favoured weapon is the Punching Dagger.
As one of the Eight Human gods, his followers expect to go to the Garden Beyond the Stars when they die, although it is uncertain whether he will be there to meet them in the Garden. Since the Eight are less personal than the Survivor deities, it is unclear whether they reside in the Garden themselves or merely guide their followers to it without any form of personal interaction.

In the Palimpsest Tarot, the Beggar Man constellation corresponds to the fourth card in the Noble Eight Suit, called the Trickster Noble. It represents the concept of Trickery.
Alongside the holy symbol of the Begging Bowl, the Beggar Man is often associated with Gin imagery. The Juniper Tree, whose berries are used in the gin manufacturing process, is often depicted in Beggar Church artwork. Likewise, Gin Bread, a loaf soaked in the favoured alcohol, is eaten each Trickmas.
Holidays
Trickmas: Each Givesday, Beggarmoon, the Beggar Church celebrates Trickmas. On this topsy-turvey festival, celebrants give money and charity to the poor, and play tricks on those of a higher social standing. Often high quantities of alcohol are consumed, along with a gin-soaked loaf of bread, called Gin Bread, which has had a goodluck token baked into it. Tradition dictates that whoever recieves the slice with the token in it will have the Beggar's Luck for the upcoming year.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The Beggar Man values sharp wits and charismatic guile. His favoured heroes tend to be roguish adventurers, bards or investigators who solve problems with their quick thinking and outwit their enemies with outlandish trickery. The Beggar Man believes merely killing someone to achieve a goal is a bit of a buzzkill.
