Note: the list of Ronas Darklyn's offspring is incomplete, and likely incorrect - at least some of these must be the offspring of previous holders of the title 'The Giant' as, even as long lived as the Darklyns are known to be, Ronas would have to be impossibly old to have fathered individuals such as Eskil. The innaccurate record keeping can be laid at the feet of the Darklyns' distance, both geographically and politically, from the Royal Court and their refusal to engage with The Spire.

History

Even moreso than the other Duchal Houses in The Kingdom of Somercrag, House Darklyn's origins lie in The Unification of Somercrag. The first Darklyns, led by the first Giant, landed on the shore of The Bay of Glass as part of a raiding party allegedly sailing from The Continent of Amoth, during a time before The Mirror Sea was becalmed.

The Giant was amongst the first to flock to Soren Somercrag's banner, with his band of raiders fighting alongside the forces of ser Jorrel Hayford and the new King of Somercrag.

Disbandment

House Darklyn of Darklyn Point was officially disbanded in 443KS following the successful conclusion of The Royal Coalition vs House Darklyn at The Battle of Darklyn Point.

They were succeeded by House Southbay of Southbay, with The Southbay Duchy replacing The Darklyn Duchy as the Duchal power and ser Allon Southbay replacing Hallkatla Darklyn to the position of Duke of the lands Between the Mountains.

Under the Southbay Duchy the seat of The Duchal Council of House Southbay was moved to The City of Southbay. The Lordship of Darklyn Point passed to ser Cemali Amberrock and House Amberrock of The Point in recognition of their invaluable part in the battle to sieze the castle.
