Narannax Mountains

The Narannax Mountains1 in southern Emlas are the highest on that continent and the world in general. They are bordered by Sanx and Paróbax to the west, Þonnanó to the southwest, Imkala to the southeast, Dalra and the Zamra Mountains to the west and northwest, and the Akna Plain to the north.
The inhabitants of the mountains are known as Lasmans, and their territory as Lasam.

Geography
The southern part of the mountains is generally more fertile, with dense forests at lower altitudes and alpine pastures higher up, while the central and especially northern regions are more rugged and home to only the hardiest of plants. The land is dotted with lakes -the largest being Nasme Lake-, and a number of rivers originate in the Narannax Mountains, including Ajok River, Jygnún River and Rilakús River.
The southernmost part of the mountains is Pammak Ridge, which extends almost to the coast of Galafam Sea. Although the Rerp Mountains and Zamra Mountains to the west and east, respectively, are technically part of the Narannax Mountains, they are considered distinct regions.

Fauna & Flora
At lower altitudes, especially to the south, the mountains are dominated by cloud forests, which give way to tropical rainforests at the foothills, while higher up the vegetation becomes hardier and sparser until it becomes completely barren around snowline. Notable wildlife in the Narannax Mountains includes bears, red pandas, condors, wild donkeys and lynxes.
