Akna Plain
Sanxean: Akna /ahkhnaː/, Aknalii /ahkhnaːlɪː/
The Akna Plain1 is a steppe that forms the western half of the vast grassland that covers much of northern Emlas, separated from the Nómek Plain via the river Halax and bordered by the Narannax Mountains to the south, Fjimrú Forest to the southwest, the Fúra Mountains to the west, the river Almúlamú to the northwest and Nixma Sea to the north.
The steppe is home to various nomadic and semi-nomadic tribes collectively known as Gölans, who subsist on a mixture of hunting, gathering and -to the west- raiding farms and settlements in Sanx and Hau Þnin.
The name is derived from the sanxean word for east, who sometimes refer to the region as Aknalii or The Eastern Expanse.
