    Camayers have several tiers of responsibilities according to their specialization.

    Hampi-Camayoc

    A priest-magician-doctor who offers sacrifices, hears confessions, gives advice, averts plagues and pestilences and drives out disease-causing demons.

    Churihampi-Camayoc

    The aids to the Sapa, himself, who maintain the security of his royal accoutrements. Though most of his time is spent in researching knotts.

    Soncoyocs

    The armourers who create and maintain the army's knottery equipment.

    All camac are quipucamayoc, but not all quipucamayoc are camac.
    Only dishonorable conduct such as scandal, plagiarism or selling intellectual secrets will strip a man of this title.

    Cultural Significance

    Anyone can theoretically tie a knot made from animal hair of any thickness, provided they have the proper education to do so.   The different binary knot configurations and number of crossings outline the path the energy will be forced to make for a particular effect that will only manifest on the Qhapaq Ñan.
