Albion - being also the British Isles - has the usual range of flora and fauna you'd expect of Great Britain. However, there are also a number of magical creatures. They tend to be reclusive, rarely seen even by the magical community. A few are dangerous, some are highly magical, some are simply beautiful or fascinating.
(This list is almost certainly not complete: if there's a reference you'd like to know more about that's not here, please drop me a note and I'm glad to add a bit.)
Arrinsocks resist damage to the area they protect, and are mostly found in ancient woodlands. They're referenced in
Outcrossing when someone comes to a bad end after interfering with them.
A large dragon-liked mythological beast native to Scotland (especially the highlands) with venomous stinger in its tail. These are not my invention, they have extant folklore. They're discussed in
The Fossil Door.
A dangerous magical beast, rare, but found in various places including the New Forest. Referenced in
Outcrossing.
A magical hedgehoggy sort of beast, with spines that have a fierce purple sparkle. They're the actual source of some of the folklore around hedgehogs stealing grapes and draining cows dry. They appear in
A Dog's Chance.
A rare, bitey, and potentially lethal creature. About half of the magical community has an anaphlyactic reaction to them on skin contact. (In terms of frequency, think about the likelihood of a mountain lion in New England: it's not impossible to see one, and people do, but not terribly often.) Discussed in
Outcrossing,
Ancient Trust,
On The Bias, and
The Fossil Door.
The name comes from the Latin for 'miracle' for good reason - they're extremely rarely seen, only in places where the magic of the land is doing well, and by people who mean them no harm. They are bright formless shapes that dance and dart and swirl in wooded clearings when all the stars and circumstances align just right. They're spotted in
Outcrossing and
Gabriel Edgarton lives in hope of seeing them at
Veritas.
Not native to Albion, these are the mythic huge birds of the Middle East.
Cadmus Michaels mentions them in
Seven Sisters.
A magical hare variant, drawn to places where the magic is strong and well-tended. Theodora,
Geoffrey Carillon's eagle-owl, is particularly fond of hunting them, and they must be reasonably abundant around
Hawk's Breath.
Nightjars are a real bird, with a sort of murmuring call that's a little like grasshoppers. In folklore, they're said to steal milk from goats. The Twilight Nightjars are magical, and their feathers are particularly useful for some Materia uses. The magical birds are luminescent twilight blue in colour.
A cat-sized cloud of mist that looks like a winged dragon.
Ferry Wright is very curious about them in
Outcrossing.
It could be an albino deer - or it could be something rather more magical. Held to have special properties, including blessing the land, but also with a liminal sense to them, of something beyond the physical world. Mentioned in
Outcrossing and
Ancient Trust.
