subscribers subscriber-group subscriber css
As per the title, I'd love for the ability to set custom styles for subscribers based on their group! (example: faction colours, avatar borders)

What functionality is missing? What is unsatisfying with the current situation?

Currently the way to do this involves a line of css for each individual username (or by author UUID) which is takes a lot of time to add (especially for worlds with a lot of subscribers) and bulky with many lines of CSS.

How does this feature request address the current situation?

I'd love it if there was a css class added after the .comment-author-UUID (and if possible also to the card boxes on the /followers page of worlds, too).   The addition of this would mean we could include fun and immersive experiences for followers & subscribers of our worlds :D   Furthermore, it would encourage people to join a subscriber group and participate in comments, making them feel like a special part of a world's community!
Examples
With this feature you'd be able to easily style things like:
  • different coloured backgrounds based on subscriber groups (red team vs blue team)
  • add team / guild / faction banners or stylings next to comments
  • overlay avatar frames to certain subscriber groups
  • show special styles based on Patreon / exclusive subscriber groups
  • overlay unique avatars based on species subscriber group (elves / orcs / dwarves / etc)
  • What are other uses for this feature request?

There's bound to be further ideas that can be explored if this feature gets added, what would you use it for in your world?

    The Team's Response

Thanks for the suggestion! We think this is a very nice quality of life feature for advanced users, but it will not be implemented until after the new presentation update. It will also available only to Sage users and above. That's because it's a very heavy feature that, if it were implemented now, would slow down all articles with comments on World Anvil (as the system would need to check the subscriber group of every single commenter every time the article is loaded).
