Forest of Morn
The Forest of Morn is a very large forest in the very southeast of the continent of Zalas in the area known as the Dead Lands under the control of The Dread Lords. It stretches from the eastern foothills of the Southern Grey Mountains until just before the eastern coast of the continent. It is an oak forest mostly made up of black, white, red, scarlet, and chestnut oaks although there are several other different types of trees present in small numbers.
Geography
The forest is an extremely dense set of trees made up of different types of oaks. The underbrush is known to be very thick and overgrown throughout much of the forest and the canopy is said to be so tightly packed that light can hardly shine down to the forest floor. The forest is full of small streams and creeks that snake their way throughout. Much of the terrain is largely flat in nature with smaller sets of hills scattered around.
History
The forest is thought to have been created by the god Tarsen at time the same time as the creation of the continent of Zalas which it is apart of. The woods are long thought and rumored by the local peoples to be haunted and a source of dark energy. These long running superstitions about the forest has led to it getting its modern name.
