Sindaruk Forest (SIn-dar-uhk)
The Sindaruk forest is a large forest in the south of the Golden Khanate and lies entirely within their domain. It is situated between the Northern Grey Mountains and the Tulow River. It is a pine forest made up of Stone, Mountain, Red, Lodgepole, and Jack pine with a small smattering of maples trees.
Geography
The forest is thick and densely packed with an overgrown underbrush that makes traveling through the forest extremely difficult at best. It is sparsely populated with streams and creeks making seeing ponds a rare sight. The terrain is very steep and rough with the elevation spiking the closer you get to the Northern Grey Mountains.
History
The forest is said to have been created at the same time as the continent of Zalas by the god Tarsen as he was creating the landmass. It is said to have been first discovered by the Hobgoblins that originate from near the area. The outskirts of the forest has been used as a source of timber by the local populace though the deeper parts of the forest have been only lightly explored due to its rough terrain.
