Windrest Forest (Wind-rest)
Windrest Forest is a large forest in the south/southeast of the Listuroni Sultanate that runs the length of the western edge of the Southern Grey Mountains. It is a mixed spruce and pine forest consisting of Blue, White, Black Hills, and Black spruce along with Eastern White, Gray, Bristlecone, and Foxtail pine. The forest is known for its massive, towering trees that seem to stretch into the sun.
Geography
A very dense forest with trees grown tightly together like a thick knot know for its thick and thorny underbrush that makes traveling through it an arduous process at best. It does not have many streams or creeks running through it with sight of one being a rare thing. The terrain is steep and rocky as it rises sharply into the Southern Grey Mountains to the east and south of it.
History
The forest is believed by scholars to have been created by the god Tarsen at the same time as his creation of the continent of Zalas during the great creation in the beginning of the world. It was named by the peoples that now make up the lands of the Listuroni Sultanate after a small village to the west of it of the same name. It has been used by the local populace as a source of timber for many generations.
