    Founding of Meridian
    Founding

Having finished the Great Purge, Oremar seeks to avoid the same pitfall the sorcerers did. Rather than use the power of his order to seize control of the world, Oremar adopted a policy of isolation. The Order of Logicmasters promised not to interfere in world politics, vowing they would only interfere if sorcerous power was used to seize political power, or to hunt down any sorcerers or dragons that are found. Recognizing the Logicmasters need a place to settle, Oremar selected a relatively uninhabited island, and founded the nation of Meridian. According to Logicmaster histories, the locals of the island were joyous and grateful for the wealth they brought with them when they settled their lands. The founding of Meridian marks the end of the 3rd Epoch, and start of the 4th.

    Religious event

This begins a chain of events that will lead the Darnesians to be among the most piously Dichotist in the world in the modern day.

    The 101 Year Jihad
    Military action

The spread of Dichotism within the Darnesian Emirates had begun a religious fervor. Darneshi are known to be hot headed and aggressive. The structure and control of organized religion gave way to street preachers and mob congregations. This tension boiled over into the 101 Year Jihad. This event has wide spanning ramifications even to the modern day. It is the fundamental cause of the collapse of the Elven Kingdom into the Elven Princedom, and spread Dichotism to communities throughout the continent of Etherionde. The Jihad spanned 2 generations, and engrained religious militarism into the Darneshi identity.

    The First Arbethian Crusade
    Religious event

King Elivar Arinos II declares Dichotism the official religion of the Arbethian Kingdom. He then gathers his forces to embark upon a crusade. This crusade ventured into the Dragonshead Peninsula, and is largely successful. The Draconid people of the Dragonshead Peninsula are subject to religious persecution, their cultural religion of the Blood of the Ancients is outlawed by Arbethia, and many faced years of forced labor, or even execution, for practicing it in secret. Many historians believe that this event is what sparked the longstanding spirit of independence and rebellion within the people of the Dragonshead Peninsula.

After 7 years of campaigning, a peace is agreed upon by the two nations, which left the Arbethian Kingdom controlling a large swath of Vesinian lands. This was a grave loss for the Vesinians, and is marked by many to be the root of the Empire's eventual collapse.

    The 24 Years War
    Military action

The scattered incursions that spawned from the 101 Year Jihad managed to unite under the guidance of Grand Imam Lashran, a Darnesian Emir. She banded the religious mobs into a true army, and spurned them towards a single purpose: destroy the Elven Kingdom.

After initial success, the Darnesians suffered defeat followed by defeat. The Elves did not stop the fighting at their border, they retaliated into Darneshi lands, conquering the city of Sha Alafa, and its surrounding territory. The Elves tried to leverage their position to force a surrender from the Darneshi, instead the war culminated in the battle of Sha Alafa, in which the Darnesians made an attempt to retake the city.

During this battle, the Elven King Ithvaien was killed in battle. Stories of foul magic, deceit, and trickery surround the killing of the king. Most Darneshi would claim these stories to be false, a result of Elven pride and arrogance. In the aftermath, Sha Alafa returned to Darneshi hands, and the Elven Kingdom would be forever changed, reforming as the Elven Princedom, vowing they would never have a King or Queen until this wrong was righted. Relations between the two nations remain sour and hostile, in large part due to this incident.

    The Third Arbethian Crusade
    Religious event

King Elivar Arinos III, true to his namesake, rallied the Arbethian people to embark upon a third crusade, and the last to this day. Like the second crusade, this one targeted the Vesinian Empire. This crusade hardly claimed the pretext of religious zealotry, and was clearly political opportunism. The Vesinian Empire was weak, its economy crumbling, and presented as easy pickings. Yet, threat from the Innish to the north, and possible rebellion on the Dragonshead Peninsula was stretching the Kingdom thin. This crusade was kept brief and strategic. The territories grabbed were calculated, the lands seized ensured to be the highest valuable possible, and the crusade was halted as soon as the Kingdom had obtained their goals.

    Rise of the Sultan
    Political event

After the end of the 101 Year Jihad, the hero and leader of the 24 Years War, Grand Imam Lashran, rose to extreme political power. Lashran was already an Emir at the time, and her situation fed her ambition. She declared herself Sultan of Darnesia, claiming she hears the voices of the Risen in her dreams, and communes with them directly. The other Emirs decided to accept her rule, knowing the alternative would be war. Lashran was an Aasimar, and every Sultan since her has also been an Aasimar.

    The Tensun Trading Company
    Civil action

The Vesinian Empire falls into economic ruin, the result of a long struggle to stabilize in the aftermath of the Third Crusade. In their efforts to draw foreign investment, they lower import and export taxes to be among the lowest in the world, and loosen a variety of trade regulations already in place. The tactic works, causing most of the largest businesses, guilds, and conglomerates of the world to make their home in the nation.   One such conglomerate, the Tensun Trading Company, became so rich, it was more powerful than the Empire itself. In order to save the failing nation, a deal was made in which the Tensun Trading Company bought the Vesinian Empire. The Tensun Trading Company then began a centuries long endeavor to reform, and rebuild the nation from the ground up. It allowed the nation to maintain its name up until the year 490, in which it officially rebranded the Vesinian Empire as the Tensun Trading Company. The transformation would include new trade regulations, redistricting, and an entirely new governmental oligarchy comprised of the nations wealthiest constituents.

    The Great Gathering of Khans
    Gathering / Conference

The Khans of the Inniash Khaganate gathered in a grand meeting, with the hopes of creating unity and finding peace between many existing feuds. During this gathering Tolusim the Treacherous poisoned the food and drink of all present, violating a long honorable tradition of hospitality whilst breaking bread. He kills the Khagan, and all other Khans present, except Gurgonbuyant the Wise, who suspected Tolusim from the start. Gurgonbuyant kills Tolusim in 1 on 1 combat, and named a new Khan for each of the Khanates who just lost their own Khans (often picking from the Khans children). He unites these newly appointed Khans under his rule, achieving the original goal of the gathering in some sense. The nation from this point onwards begins to act in a more unified manner.

    The Shasarek Rebellion
    Revolution

The people who live in the Shasarek Desert had long suffered under the rule of the Darnesian Sultanate. With covert support from the Elven Princedom, the region geared up for rebellion, and then executed that rebellion. The rebellion was successful, repelling the Sultanates presence. The rebellion rapidly dissolved to infighting before any stability could return to the region. In this anarchy, warlords, bandits, and ravagers rise to power.

    Heresy of Singulism
    Religious event

Imam Rashwanan, a lesser Imam within the Dichotist faith who lived in the Darnesian Sultanate, declares a series of revelations given to him by god. He described the revelations much like Ansul had experienced his, though his claims were heresy to what Ansul had written in The Dichotomy.   He named his heresy Singulism, declaring that there was only one god, who is struggling in an internal battle of morality between good and evil. The religion spreads like wildfire, causing great unrest within the Darnesian Sultanate.

    Rashwanan Rebellion
    Revolution

Imam Rashwanan declares himself to be Caliph, calling to action all followers of Singulism to take up arms and fight to found their own nation. The rebellion lasts 2 years, and is among the bloodiest 2 years of known history, decimating the landscape of the Darnesian Sultanate.   By the end, a peace was reached in the founding of the Rashwanan Caliphate, and mass migrations ensued as Dichotists and Singulists left their homes to live in the country that most aligned with their religion.

    The Sultanate Incursions

The temporary peace reached at the end of the Rashwanan Rebellion was short lived. Zealots of Dichotism gathered within the Darnesian Sultanate many times, making attempts to reconquer their lost lands of the Rashwanan Caliphate. These incursions lasted no longer than a few months each time they were attempted, but resulted in significant loss of life. The incursions were often carried out against the Sultan's wishes, by unorganized mobs, or rebellious Imams.

Such incursions happened in the years 395, 401, 403, and 487. No such incursions have occurred since.

    Military action

The Chellesian Kingdom invades the Hantzu territories nearby it, in an attempt to amalgamate it into their kingdom. They attempt to create a confederation titled the First Sovereignty, a union of Cellan and Hantzu lands. The Hantzu were easily conquered, as they were split into almost a hundred lesser sovereigns themselves. Yet, having a foreign occupier of their lands allowed them to unite in a shared cause. After nearly seven years of dealing with Hantzu insurgency, the Chellesian Kingdom retreats to their homeland, and dissolves the First Sovereignty.
