History: The Vesinian Empire is a country that is now gone, but deserves recognition for its power and influence over world events in the recent past. It was founded in 64 3E under the conquest of Emperor Corvum. At its height, after the conquest of the Dragon Peninsula in 81 4E, the Vesinian Empire held the entirety of the Vesinian Peninsula and Dragonshead Peninsula. Its decline began with the Draconid Rebellion of 10 4E, in which the Vesinian Empire lost the Dragonshead Peninsula. Years later, the 2nd and 3rd Crusades of the Arbethian Kingdom had dealt heavy blows to the Empire, whose territory had been pushed back to roughly the territory of what is now known as the Tensun Trading Company.
After this point, the Vesinian Empire failed to remain relevant in world politics. Hoping to save their stagnating economy, they decided to incentivise foreign investment, and poach the worlds largest guilds. In 235 4E, the Vesinian Empire lowered their import and export taxes to be the lowest in the world. The initiative worked well initially, as many guilds relocated their headquarters there, including the worlds largest banks. However, over the long term, the country was continuing to fail. Perhaps it was due to the lack of import/export tax.
In the end, a massive multinational conglomerate corporation, called the Tensun Trading Company, bought the Empire in 238 4E, after they had already taken over the entire distribution and production centers of the Empire. The Empire essentially did already belong to them, in effect if not in law. The Emperor at the time took the money, and retired to live in peaceful comfort. The Empire was dissolved, redistricted, and molded into the nation now known as the Tensun Trading Company.
