Draconid

The Draconid are perhaps the most ancient culture of all, originating as servants to their Dragon overlords of the 1st Epoch with records of organized communities within the oldest scrolls of the Grand Library of Meridian. Histories still debate as to whether the Draconids were fervently devoted servants to the Dragons, or downtrodden slaves forced to serve under threat of death. Most modern Draconids believe their culture to have been reluctant servants to the Dragons, essentially slaves to them, ever threatened by death to continue their service. It seems likely that both cases were true, to a higher or lesser degree.   In the years after the 1st Epoch, when the power of Dragons fell, Draconid culture began to face severe prejudice. Many in the world believed them to have been willing cohorts to the Dragons, creating a lasting disdain towards Draconid kind, even through the modern era. To escape their constant discrimination, the Draconids had to flee from the mainland continents and escape to secluded islands, now known as the Draconid Isles, where they could live in relative peace. Some Draconid communities migrated out onto peninsulas, with the Dragonshead Peninsula being one of the only large Draconid communities upon any mainland. In the modern day, most of the Draconid populace resides within the New Sovereignty as a Province, having joined the nation upon its formation.   Draconids are comprised of Dragonborn, Kobolds, and Lizardfolk, with a wide array of other poorly regarded races having founded small communities amongst their culture. Draconid culture values hardiness, and strength in the face of adversity. Draconids are accustomed to resource scarce island life. Unlike Darneshi culture, where scarcity has fostered pragmatism, Draconids lean deeper into their relationships when times are hard rather than breaking their bonds. Community is paramount. To thrive they have had to become seafaring, and are more skilled than any other culture in that regard. Draconids feel a strong connection amongst each other, where their cultural bond is as strong as their national bonds. In this way they are similar to Elven culture, save that the bonds of community extend between multiple races rather than just one.
