Elven Ethnicity in Vallonde | World Anvil

Elven

Elven culture, as might be expected, is a culture coexistent with the Elven race. The Elven Princedom, perhaps the most enduring nation in history, has been the traditional home of this culture, though a large contingent of the culture resides as a province within the New Sovereignty now.   Elven culture is founded on the principal of loyalty to one's own kind, rather than to a nation, region, or religion. This singular kinship often seems prideful to other cultures, even xenophobic. Elves do not view their racial bond as such, simply calling it a natural kinship born of their unique experience. Elves live longer lives than any other known race, and as such the lens through which they experience the world is vastly different. Any bonds they make with other races are certain to cause heartbreak, as they will likely outlive these bonds. Only relationships with other Elves can be truly life-long, and if this is the case, many Elves feel that such relationships must be valued and prioritized above all others.   Most Elves live within temperate forests, ranging from warm to cold climates. Elves are accustomed to a certain degree of natural magic, both as an innate part of their race, and resultant of the Faedoria'taurĂ«, within which the majority of Elves live. Although there are always exceptions, Elven culture generally prefers this natural, innate sort of magic over the industrialized artificing that is growing in popularity. This culture's personality varies greatly, and is not especially defined by a set of behavioristic ideals beyond an emphasis on self-betterment, whether that be through introspection or ambition.
