Tensun Trading Company

Government: Oligarchy. The 5 richest members of the company form a council that rules the company, a complex system of guilds and guild law governs daily life.   Cultures: Majority Vesinian, with many other minority cultures.   Official Religion: None, freedom of religion.   Population: 130,000   The Tensun Trading Company originated as a conglomeration of corporations that sought to make a fortune off of the Vesinian Empire's tax-cut initiatives in 235 4E. They were among the first companies to relocate to the Empire when the initiative began, and they were one of the only companies to capitalize on it with ambition and aggression. They expanded extremely rapidly, investing all their profits back into the company, and loaning heavily from banks. They came to own the entire distribution network of the Vesinian Empire within a decade.   Tensun then began to buyout distribution networks elsewhere. Soon they slowed down their expansion, and focused on quality infrastructure for the next several years. They provided the most reliable, highest quality distribution in the world. They rapidly repaid their loans, then immediately took out new loans, and expanded further. After a period of expansion, they focused on infrastructure again, and repaid their loans again. Their methodical process worked time and again, and they built their trade empire.   Their distribution network, combined with the Vesinian tax-cuts, attracted the largest guilds of the world to relocate there, including the Bankers Guild. In 238 4E, the Tensun Trading Company bought what remained of the Vesinian Empire. In truth, the Empire had already belonged to them for some time. After the purchase, they began to redistrict and reform the country as a trade empire ruled by an Oligarchy of its wealthiest members (as the Company had already been running). This restructuring was slow, and deliberate, and the company maintained the Vesinian Empires name throughout the process.   By 246 4E, the Tensun Trading Company had offices in every corner of the world, and a firm grip on worldwide trade. Any trade caravan, merchant ship, or courier of goods that didn't have the Ten Suns Crest of approval was sub-par, and untrusted. Tensun didn't stop there, they began to diversify, and become a true Oligopoly. Tensun employs mercenaries to protect shipping lanes against pirates, and caravan routes against bandits. They own banks, smithies, foundries, and mining ventures. The Ten Suns Crest can be found on many quality weapons, armors, chairs, tables, and home fixtures. By the year 490 4E, the company had completely finalized the restructuring of the Vesinian Empire, and officially dissolved the Vesinian Empire into the Tensun Trading Company. This event was used by the Logicmasters to mark the end of the 4th Epoch and start of the 5th Epoch. Tensun continues it's slow, yet reliable methods of growth, thriving upon the new global economy.
