Iceforged Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

Iceforged

The Iceforged Dwarves living in different areas of the Realm likely came from different original sources. Dwarves have long traveled to the southern Human lands and sometimes Asgard, a Godforged or perhaps a Celestial may have begun the line of Iceforged that reside in Niflheim now, but none can truly say.   Those found in Nidavellir likely came to be by way of a Sea Elf sailor and their cargo taking the smuggler's route at Rockfall inland. The Iceforged that live beyond the Wall of Winds in Jotunheim are thought to have come to be a good deal later with a Waterdeep on the icy shores meeting a partly Dwarven remnant of the Iron War.   Iceforged are built to live in the coldest of climates, and build in the coldest of climates, crafting structures of stone and magic infused ice stronger and more elegant than what can be simply carved from stone. They are renowned warriors, and far more magically inclined than most Dwarves, certainly the mortal ones.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

Iceforged age stages take after whichever culture they are raised in, but all things being equal, they lean toward their Dwarven side in this regard. They reach full size around 20 years of age, but are still considered in their youth until the age of 50, at 150 they are usually done with their procreation years, and are considered an elder at 250 years old and beyond.
Legacy Beings take on traits of each of their parent species. A single Water Elemental far back in a long line of Dwarves will make for a present day Iceforged with mostly Dwarven characteristics. That Iceforged individual, however, would have had to have a Vanir or God in their family tree somewhere, as they are the only humanoid beings that can directly physically interact with an Elemental, much less procreate with them.   Choose which of your parent species you take after more, then take the Stats and Prime Traits of that parent species, and the Legacy Trait of the other parent species.
