Halfling Species in The Realm of Beardsgaard | World Anvil

Halfling

Halflings were first born of a marriage between the Gnomes of Nidavellir and some relatively small Humans of Midgard, different in little more than a bit of stature and a good deal more lifespan.   Wise beyond their size, quick, nimble and quiet, they aren't often seen unless they mean to be. They are friendly and gregarious with fellow smallfolk, but usually wary of the large ones until they proved themselves to be no threat.   The Halflings of the Realm reside in the low rolling hills among the lakes and woods of the middle northern section of Midgard, just across the border from the gnomes in Nidavellir. They have many small villages in the region, many with a focus on detailed trades, some living an agrarian life at one with nature, and some with a focus on music or craft.   Halflings come in two distinct varieties: those who burrow into life and make it homey where they are, and those with a deep wanderlust. As such, you won't find many if any halfling settlements outside of the Human and Dwarven lands, but you will find Halflings all over.
