The Antarians are said to have been the original, precursor race of the Elves.
A strange and mysterious time, when the lands were ruled by a civilisation known only as the Antediluvians. A time of great scientific and magical knowledge and innovation. That knowledge was lost in the Great Deluge.
The waters of the world rose, and the lands of The Known World were completely flooded. Only once they had receded could new civilisations emerge.
After the waters had sunk, the new lands were once again free to flourish under the sun. New civilisations arose in the remains of the devastation caused by the Great Deluge.
Around 1000 AtD the world was struck by a huge meteor shower that rained down flaming rocks in a broad swathe from Farbarrow in the north-west to Panaan in the south-east, causing great damage. From this event grew the myth of The Tears of Celestian. In some parts of the world, in the great craters left by the devastation, such as the Rel Crater, Celestial Steel was discovered.
Farbarrow, the ancestral home of the Halflings was a place of peace and plenty. The folk of the lands lived in their holes without any care in the world except whether Yondalla would bless their harvests. Then, sometime around 4500 AtD, everything changed. What had been a land of quiet lives well-lived became a place of nightmare, death and destruction, and it all happened without warning.
The Cerulean Empire was formed at the start of the 52nd Century AtD, initially as an alliance of small towns along the western shorelines of The Azure Sea to help defend the populace against the bandits and monsters of the wild lands.
In 5545 AtD Emperor Teraknian Jehen of the Cerulean Empire began a programme of expansion which became known as the Teraknian Augmentation. Whilst not yet venturing west into the deep forest of the Fearwyd Weald, the Empire grew to the north and south. The fringes of the Dukari Plains in the south fell under its sway, and after a long and attritional war in the Hool Marshes against the Lizardfolk, the Empire started its expansion east.
The rapid expansion of the Cerulean Empire came to a head when the Antarian Federation pushed back and the Great Pelagic War began. The war between the Elves and the Humans lasted for almost eighty years.
After the Great Schism, the Drow withdrew into the Underdark, and there discovered the mines of the Dwarves. Conflict was inevitable.
The Battle of Tynamore Reef was a naval exchange between the Cerulean Empire and the Hold of the Sea Princes, and it marked a change in fortunes for both sides.
After recovering from their war against the Drow, the Dwarves of Koldor's Hold opened the great gates to the city once again. They emerged into a changed world and started to mingle with the surface-dwellers once more.
