The Great Schism

Disbandment

The event that lead to the end of the Great Pelagic War and the sundering of the elven races.

The armies of the Antarian Federation were on the verge of victory against the Cerulean Empire in the Great Pelagic War.   The ships of the Antarian Navy were inside the harbour of Keymouth, and the Drow and Eldgach were are the city gates. Defeat for the Empire and it's allies was assured.   And then, without warning or explanation, the assembled host of the Elves withdrew and sued for peace. The Great Pelagic War was over.   The Elves withdrew, back across the sea, to Antaros.   Shortly thereafter the Schism occurred. Without fuss or conflict the various elven races dispersed and went their own separate ways. The Drow retreated into the Underdark. The Alugach set sail across the sea. The Grugach went west to the Fearwyd Weald. And the Eldgach stayed in Antaros .   The varied tribes of Elves would not co-operate again.   Only the most senior members of the Antarian Federation know what happened to cause this sundering of the elf-folk, but it's consequences are still being felt.
