Antarian Navy
Lead by the great elven general Shalaevar Lumenor, the Antarian Navy is one of the most powerful forces active abroad The Azure Sea, rivalled only, perhaps, by the Imperial Navy and the Hold of the Sea Princes.
The Navy is based in the elven capital of Antaros and comprises mainly Eldgach, supported by some Alugach specialists.
It was the speed and might of the Antarian Navy that almost won the The Great Pelagic War , having blockaded many Imperial outposts in support of the Antarian Army and ridden right up to the very docks of Keymouth, before suddenly, and without warning, offering their surrender at the moment of their victory.
Following the The Great Schism that followed, the Navy, still lead by Lumenor, was the one force that still held the Eldgach and Alugach together at least.
Alugach are most often employed as scouts and shipwrights. The Moonborne Maker in Limuthys still manufactures the majority of the fleet's vessels.
The Antarian Navy comprises a single fleet of a varying number of Girs, or strike forces. The vast majority of the Fleet comprises Moonborne Warships, which carry a cadre of hippogriff riders, and a few Dawnstar Couriers, whose incredible speed and manouverability makes them excellent scouts and runners.
The exact number of vessels in the Antarian Fleet is unknown, but is rumoured to be in the region of 80 or so.
During the current age the Navy seems content to defend Antaros and it's interests, rarely venturing out into the wider ocean.
