Antarian Army

Based in the Eldgach capital of Antaros, the Antarian Army is the largest single military fighting force of the Elves that remains following The Great Schism.
At the time of the Antarian Federation the army was huge, comprising massive battallons from all of the elven races. Elite Eldgach warriors were supported by Grugach archers, whilst Drow sappers broke their enemies seiges.
Since the splintering of the Federation almost all of the modern Army is comprised of Eldgach, supported by a few Alugach. The entire force now comprises around 10,000 fighters.
The leader of the Army is General Shalaevar Lumenor, who also commands the Antarian Navy.
The Eldgach have always been more concerned with their own security than trying to conquer others, and so the Army is currently used for protection of Antaros and it's surrounding domain.
The Elves are confident in their abilities, and despite the seeming defeat in the Great Pelagic War, in which many of the current soldiers saw action, they know that they could have crushed the Cerulean Empire had they not withdrawn at the last minute. That withdrawal is still the cause of some discontent amongst the rank and file soldiers.
