Anakrion

A continent of rocks and dust, Anakrion is a barren wasteland with little life. Settlements here are few and far between, and while it houses the largest one on the planet, Lanfal City, even it holds a relatively small zone of influence around it.

Cities and Claims

While the continent as a whole is largely unclaimed and uninhabited, there are cities, mining installations, military outposts, and the like on it. With the scarcity of infrastructure in the region, control is usually measured as a region extending from a given place, one that can be easily kept in control and supplied, as well as defended from potential enemies and rivals. Thus, vast swathes of the continent, and planet as a whole as this system is used all over it, are considered empty, unclaimed land, where no nation holds up their laws or regulations. Naturally, this makes them ideal for both those avoiding the law, as well as those who seek peace and quiet.

Ecology

As with most half-terraformed worlds, the ecology of Ochtotne Prime, and thus Anakrion, is very barren. The only real flora is Steelweed, and most animals are relegated to near cities, where the plantlife is more varied and plentiful, though only to an extent. The fauna, too, is limited, mostly consisting of small species, most of which hail from tundras and other cold, barren regions of Earth, as Anakrion has a similar climate.

Geography

Anakrion is very flat, with few mountains exceeding a kilometer, and being dominated by plains and flatlands. Though this nowhere to the extent Suterr's Flatland, as there are a number of hilly areas, such as where Lanfal City lies. The planet having had an atmosphere for a long time before has forbade sharp, tall and jagged formations from remaining. The Dertii Mountain Range, the border between Anakrion and Suterr's Flatland, is a notable exception to that, as it is both relatively new and large, having emerged from the two continents colliding in the recent geological past. In addition, the introduction of oceans and a water cycle some five decades ago has seen the appearance of small rivers here and there, often originating from the few higher regions. In time, these will develop into impressive waterways and streams.
