Dunlorn
Founded by Queen Anthea a few years before the Catalyst War by refugees driven across the sea by a Dominion crusade against their ancestral home. Settling the city of Dunlorn in the ancient Sarkhani ruins of Nathair along the coast near the Barrow-weald, the Lornish quickly became a major player on Mithlonde. Welcoming to all Dunlorn is a beacon of acceptance and community. Devoted to her citizens, Queen Anthea ensured Dunlorn boasted a high degree of individual freedoms and strong social safety nets to provide for all who live there.
The discovery of Sarkhani magitech and the genius of many of the founders saw Dunlorn become the technological super power of northern Mithlonde, and they used this advantage to defend their city and the ever increasing outlying settlements. Lornish airships were instrumental in the toppling of the slaver state known as Hogskull and in the Catalyst War that followed.
Proliferation of this deadly technology is a grave concern among Lornish leaders and great measures are taken to ensure none of it leaves trusted Lornish hands. This has lead to many rumors of the fantastical nature of Lornish technologies, ranging from doomsday weapons, to massive fighting machines, to outlandish personal firearms. The veracity of these rumors is known only by the upper echelons of the Lornish government and they refuse to acknowledge such claims.
Queen Anthea proved to be the only monarch of Dunlorn, as her last decree was to reform the nation's founding documents to establish a parliamentary body to rule the nation according to the will of its people.
