Hobgoblin

Sharing an ancient, and long extinct, ancestor with Goblins, Hobgoblins are the larger of the two species. They have bluish skin, black hair, the same long ears as the other goblinoids, and their faces are rough and wide. Their lower jaws tend to protrude, and while not having true tusks like an Orc, their lower teeth are often visible.
Hobgoblin society is largely known for its militaristic tendencies, with many seeing a life in the military or as a mercenary as one that will bring them the most honor. No self-respecting hobgoblin would be seen farming or crafting, with possible exception of weapon- or armorsmithing. This presents an issue in certain hobgoblin societies, if these 'less worthy' tasks are not properly incentivized by those in power, where the warriors instead turn to their neighbors as a source of labor. The largest hobgoblin slaver state saw its demise centuries ago, however, and this focus on militarism is seen by many of the more progressive hobgoblins as a dark blight that ought to be purged from their culture.
