Gnome

Slightly younger than the elves, the gnomes of of Mithlonde are small in stature, with sharp features and short pointed ears, and a wide and exotic range of skin and hair tones. Gnomes possess a natural affinity for magic, often capable of simple magic feats instinctively from birth. They arose independently from any other species in the Temay March area to the south west of the continent. They spread to many other regions of Mithlonde, as civilization spread, and even more so with the rise of the Sarkhani, but the core of their culture had always persisted in the Temay March, until the loss of Old Zetzuka.   Old Zetzuka was the center of post-Cataclysm gnomish civilization, the resurgence of an independent gnome kingdom after the Sarkhani and well on its way to become a major player in the area when disaster struck. A catalyst, the largest yet on record, materialized in the capital and surrounding country side of the promising kingdom. It could not survive the magical storm, and the gnomes of the Temay March were forced to flee aboard their fleet, doomed to sail the western seas for a generation. Today they are rebuilding in the ruins of New Hampt off the northwestern peninsula, a new home for the gnomes of Mithlonde. As catalyst rise, doom sayers preclaim the fall of  Stormhaven] and some wonder if perhaps the species itself is cursed to remain scattered by the magical storms of a post Cataclysm Mithlonde
