Urswick

Urswick was founded a few centuries before The Catalyst War , by the brothers Ur when they led a force to reclaim an ancient dwarven stronghold from the myraid forces that had taken up residence, making it the capital of their new kingdom. Their dynasty leads the kingdom to this day, always with a steady hand and passionate desire to be a home for all dwarves. To this day the Ur dynasty still reigns, having largely produced stable and reliable rulers.   The kingdom became a beacon of hope to the declining race, drawing dwarves from all over to their borders. They continue to reclaim ancient dwarven roads and strongholds, with the goal of bringing their race its former glory. Still stinging from their forced diaspora under the Sarkhani and The Cataclysm  that followed, many dwarves from Urswick shun arcane magics, seeing those that use them as playing with a fire they can barely control. Instead those magically inclined seek the path of artificer, or cleric, or rune forge.   The rediscovery of lost dwarven forges and plans has made Urswick a major manufacturer of firearms and technological devices, relatively speaking. Eschewing the magitechnial advancements of nations like Dunlorn or Sarnovum, the Dwarves of Urswick have mastered chemical, mechanical, and steam power. Steam powered mining equipment is turned inward, rediscovering old, abandoned holdings in the Shield Peaks while heavily armored dwarves armed with chemical firearms clear out any creature that has taken up residence in what they see as their rightful homes.
