Planetouched

A catch-all term for those mortals who've been altered by influence from planes beyond the material, be it an extraplanar ancestor, or exposure to the energies from the planes during birth. These mortals feature numerous extraordinary gifts and physical attributes, depending on the plane they've been touched by. For example, one associated with the plane of fire might have flaming hair, one with the fiendish planes might impart Horns and a tail, or a celestial plane could give an ever-present halo or wings.
The chance of a planetouched being born is slim and so, outside of certain communities, most will go their entire lives without meeting another planetouched. A young planetouched may find it difficult to control their innate powers, and unless they are the child of other planetouched, have no one there to help them. In uneducated, or particularly religious, communities the birth of a planetouched can be seen as a blessing, or a curse.
