Dr. Callus Deimos
Doctor Callus Deimos (a.k.a. "Doc")
Callus "Doc" Deimos is a former Grand Army of Voxelia armored cavalry officer who now serves as the chief medical officer for the Voxelian private military company Kade's Crusaders.

Education
Callus was a brilliant and dedicated - if hot-tempered - student, earning a degree in mechanical engineering from the Voxelia Academy of Sciences in only three years. Upon completion of his education, he joined the Grand Army of Voxelia as an officer and was assigned to GAV Armored Division, Caudal on completion of basic training.
In the Grand Army, Callus was trained for Auto-Armor duty and was equipped with a suit of PM "Paladin" Main Battle Auto-Armor. He hadn't initially expected to become a medical professional, but the course of his life was irrevocably altered when he and his unit were exposed to Billowing Hate spores (see Mental Trauma) during an attack on a cache of tainted supplies from Petalcap Vale. After this harrowing experience, Callus petitioned for, and was granted, access to Combat Medic training with the Grand Army in the hopes that he could prevent anyone else from suffering what he had.
Later, when Combat Medic Deimos left the service but before he joined up with Kade's Crusaders (see Employment), he sought out medical education with the Academy of Sciences but was ultimately not admitted to graduate school despite his experience and previous education. A combination of limited enrollment slots for the year, nepotism involving the faculty, and the intimidating effect of his previously intense personality factored into this rejection.
Callus was not dissuaded, however, and continued studying on his own while reaching out to the Sorority of Solace covert hospital which had helped him overcome Billowing Hate. While not viable as a member in that organization due to his sex, the manager of the hospital has decided to help Callus, furnishing him with study materials and assessing his progress whenever the two can manage to get in contact. One day, "Doctor" Callus Deimos hopes to make his status official; Petalcap Vale University will likely be the place to offer him accreditation due to its satelite campus on Godshead Rock.
Employment
Callus joined up with Kade's Crusaders after being rejected from medical school (see Education). Being a veteran, he sought some kind of action where he could try to continue helping Voxelian interests while also searching for a cure to his 'nemesis': billowing hate (see Mental Trauma). Coming to Godshead Rock in the Petalcap Vale environs got him closer to the Distal Tesseract to pursue the latter goal.
While Callus is not a board-certified physician in any major territory, his combination of natural talent, education, and (often brutal) field experience have lent him a similar level of professional recognition among mercenary crews and other stateless organizaitons. For Kade's Crusaders, what makes Dr. Deimos "Doc" is trust, not paperwork. Callus often finds himself in the position of having to make use of his training as a combat auto-armor pilot, where his technical skill makes him a devastating opponent in close quarters; he views this aspect of the work through the lens of protecting his crew and civilians who might get caught up in the action, having little actual desire for bloodshed after his experience with billowing hate.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Callus and the Crusaders went on a mission to Vestra and cleared the Vestra Inn of 125 Hands terrorists who had taken the staff hostage. Amazingly, no staff members were harmed, and the crew managed to make a good impression on their mysterious employer. Supporting the staff at the covert hospital under the Vestra Inn was, in a sense, Callus 'paying forward' the salvation the Sorority of Solace had granted him years ago.
Later, the crew fought their way into the fugitive Dr. Julian Pelforth's outpost in the Distal Tesseract. There, Callus resisted the Dr. Pelforth's offers of knowledge, prestige, and racemic verdialization, bringing in a man who had once saved his life to face justice for terrible crimes conducted in the name of the Verdant Order's desire for world domination.
Mental Trauma
During a strike against a Coalition Defense Forces supply depot in the Booming Hills Range, Callus and his unit broke open shipping crates from suppliers in Petalcap Vale.
The Petalcap Vale Customs Authority is normally very dilligent about checking exports for Distal contaminants - especially billowing hate spores and Distal Polyps - but their screening methods are not perfect. As a result, spores had managed to get into the blocks of M-rations and proliferate in the dark. When the crates were subsequently broken, the cloud of spores got past the seals of the auto-armor unit's unsealed suits, exposing them to rage-inducing mycotoxins.
In the ensuing hours, most of the CDF and GAV members in the area succumbed to infighting, neurotoxic responses, anaphylactic shock, or, in the icy winter conditions over the coming hours, exposure. Only Callus and a few others managed to survive this experience, having been taken in by a local Sorority of Solace covert hospital when the effects had begun to wane and the true horror of what had happened set in. Importantly, this was actually the first time Callus encountered Dr. Julian Pelforth, a specialist in such diseases at the time who was working with the Sorority in exchange for research data.
This experience forced Callus to reconcile with his hot temper. In the throes of billowing hate, anger and aggression are uncontrollable, but the victims are left with the memories of what they did and often seek atonement. For Callus, this meant seeking to reduce his role in frontline combat and, ultimately, taking up medicine in the hopes of one day saving more lives than he has taken.
