Venus
The second planet from Sol, hot, and only barely colonized, Venus is seen as many to be the only other planet in the system capable of being truly terraformed. Its close proximity and relatively late colonization means it will likely never leave the grasp of the United Nations, but it is probably going to join as a full nation once the colonization progresses. The Venusian colonists ([Venusian Colony]) live entirely in floating cities, far above the sea of hell below.
Geography
92 atm of pressure, mostly carbon dioxide with a healthy amount of sulfuric acid. The planet below is heavily volcanically active, and is very rarely visited. The high cloud cities, where most people live and work, are quite calm, if buffeted by strong winds and surrounded by acid.
Fauna & Flora
Nothing lives here, even genetically designed extremophiles have trouble surviving.
Natural Resources
Nitrogen, but little else. A few mining expeditions have visited the surface, but the high gravity well and thick atmosphere make transport economically unfeasible.
