Jupiter

Jupiter, the largest of the planets in the solar system, is not actually used for much. It's high gravity makes extraction of gasses costly, and its radiation makes living nearby costly and energy intensive. Instead, most of the activity is dominated by the Gallilean moons, which have begun to turn themselves into a micro-solar system, as well as the capitol of the outer solar system. Ganymede has the largest population outside of the Asteroid Belt. Europa has massive Agricultural stations in orbit, supplying food and organics to most of the OS. Callisto is the spaceship yard of the OS, with foundries matched by non bar Deimos and Luna. Travel between the moons is cheap and easy, and light lag is rarely more than a few seconds, and so a highly developed trade network has flourished.
