Contra Base

This PDRMN base, situated at Mars' L3 point, this base serves to both monitor and protect points that are essentially out of view or range of Mars itself, as well as acting as the staging point for the PDRMN Opposition Fleet. Consisting of a large asteroid with a few external hangers, the base is rather unassuming externally, but has 2 small O'Neill Cylinders and millions of tons of fuel and supplies within.

Demographics

The majority of the population is directly employed by the military, but a few small commercial operations have outposts inside the base, serving food to the naval personnel or just under contract from the military.

Entirely run by the PDRMN.

60 operational long range pushing lasers, each outputting in infrared a couple PW, can easily melt through most imaginable things.

Industry & Trade

There is a small number of commercial enterprises on the station, but the vast majority of the activities are military.

Infrastructure

A common stopping point for PDRM ships, the base has a large dockyard that can perform repairs to a high quality, and refuel at good, low prices. The base has a few pushing lasers, but it is more commonly ignored in favour of other sources.

History

Initially simply a beacon and sensor bouy, it grew to an emergency depot, and eventually formed the heart of the OF to prevent needing to go back all the way back to mars every time something needed fixing.

2 large, counterrotating O'Neill Cylinders, and a network of 0g tunnels. Mostly within the asteroid, with a couple docking points visible outside.
