The Haycastle Chapter of the Order of the Broken Key
The Haycastle Chapter of the Order of the Broken Key was founded in 443KS when King Tyon I Cray invited members of the Rothevalian Knightly Orders to establish Chapter-Houses in his lands.
The Chapter was founded by ser Harlik Redman, then nearing his fifties, a knight of great repute within The Lock. Ser Harlik had been expected by many to be the next candidate for Lord Commander following the death of his mentor ser Jehannin Moitesser. Indeed, he had been serving as Chapter Master of the The Lock for almost a decade as ser Jehannin's advanced age prevented him from participating in the more physical duties of command. Instead, he was chosen to lead the detachment from the Order to found the chapter in Haycastle. When ser Jehannin died in the Spring of 444KS he was succeeded by ser Egbert Lovell.
In the autumn of 443KS, en route to Haycastle, ser Harlik and his Neophyte Annarel Casterly attended a Tourney in The City of Southbay.
In 446KS the Order was requested to support Duke Edgarth Hayford's Justicar ser Bramble Epper in dealing with an emerging bandit problem on the Eastern shores of Eastcross and the road toward Staelle Road Farmstead. While doing so, ser Harlik took a gruesome injury. On his deathbed in a hospital in Epperton he knighted his Neophyte, who took up his name and heraldry as her own. As the only knight in the Chapter, ser Annarel became Chapter Master.
In 454KS, ser Annarel followed the request of Queen Margaret III Cimber to abstain from involvement in The War For The Foxworth Secession.

Relations with The Escutcheon
The party sent with ser Harlik Redman when the chapter was founded consisted of only himself, his Neophyte, three dozen Men-at-Arms, and such civilian support as they needed. Initially the plan had been for this force to be bolstered once they had settled into their new home in The Bit, however following the death of Lord Commander ser Jehannin Moitesser, requests for additional manpower were denied.
