Queen Alexandra Alderley Whitewave

Her Majesty the Hereditary Queen Alexandra (née Colbreak) Alderley Whitewave

The current queen of Crathlia and head of the Alderley Clan, Queen Alexandra has a reputation for steely elegance, using only as many words as necessary and no more. She does not frequently appear in public, allowing her husband King Leonard to make most of their speeches. However, it should not be assumed that the queen does any less on behalf of her people. The king's unpopularity among the nobility is balanced by his wife's grace among her court and the Senate. She and her king work harmoniously, their goals as one, on separate fronts.   I have had the pleasure of working with Queen Alexandra for the duration of my engagement to her son, and have found her to be both wise and kindhearted underneath her stoicism. Alongside her husband, I believe her to be the best ruler Crathlia could ask for in these uncertain, tumultuous times.

Personal History

Family

Alexandra Colbreak Alderley was born to King Charles Colbreak Alderley and Queen Isabelle Alderley Colbreak on the 12th of Ogmal 1271. She was their firstborn; her brother Roland was born three years later.   She scored 149.11 on her tenth birthday, but retested on her eleventh birthday at her final score of 151.88. She was declared the heir to the throne on her fourteenth birthday, after her brother's score was sure to have stabilized to its final value. On that day, she also declared her engagement to sixteen-year-old Donald Whitewave Lightrock, who was thought at the time to be the highest-scoring male within five years of her age. However, that was not to be. Mere months later, a blood test revealed that Leonard Weaver Whitewave scored a point higher than his cousin--and Leonard fought for his rightful place as king.   Then-Princess Alexandra married Leonard Whitewave in 1290 in a rushed ceremony that was overshadowed by the Great War's entrance into Crathlia only weeks before. They quickly took on the responsibility of assisting the king and queen in the commanding of Crathlia's military. The royal family fearing that they might be targeted by the naered, Princess Alexandra conceived and gave birth to Princess Eloise Alderley Luma in the next year. Their second child, Prince Felix Whitewave Alderley was born as the Great War ended in 1294.   Just as that conflict ended and Crathlia was finally at peace, Alexandra's parents were assassinated by a group of pro-Amalgam terrorists on the 28th of Bridgal, 1295. Alexandra was crowned queen the next day, as is tradition, along with her husband.   Their youngest child, Prince Victor Whitewave Alderley, my fiancé and the future king of Crathlia, was born in 1296.

Education

Queen Alexandra was educated at Everdon Academy. She's told me that she was best at strategic classes and enjoyed playing wargames, with the exception of chess, due to the fact that her cousin Clarisse was a master at it and could not be beaten.

Social

Contacts and Relations

Two of the queen's most valuable contacts in Crathlia are Senator Edwina Windweaver Alderley, her aunt, and Senator Clarisse Alderley Feyrock, her first cousin, whom she roomed with at Everdon. They are two of the most powerful Senators, a crucial asset for a queen who must work with and sometimes answer to the Senate. Lady Clarisse's father and Queen Alexandra's uncle, Prince Alden Alderley Windweaver, is also an influential contact who connects the queen to the nobility at large.   At Everdon, she also befriended Lillian Windweaver Whitewave, her future husband's first cousin and the future wife of the Dissipator. Thus she has an ally in the Colbreak estate as well.

Family Ties

Queen Alexandra is a member of both the Colbreak and the Alderley clans. The Colbreaks were by and large wiped out during the Great War, other than my family's branch, which was only distantly related to her father's family. Thus she is not close to any of her living Colbreak relatives in particular, other than through Lady Lillian. In contrast, she remains close with her first cousins the Windweaver Alderleys, as noted above.   As far as her marriage, Queen Alexandra has long had a very close relationship with her husband, unusually so for noble Paragons such as themselves. Their disagreements are few and brief, resolved with careful and respectful discussion. Her relationship with her children is a bit more distant than she'd like, given that her duty to Crathlia has always had to come first. She was closest to her oldest, Eloise, who has since married and now lives in the Lumen Empire with her husband.
