Located in the arctic Tyrn Kua Toh valley of Jhoutai.

Though cold and desolate, the terrestrial bedrock of this valley and thin crust of its ice makes it prime Subnivean farming estate. Small towns and cities dot the Subnivean, with towers reaching up from below the earth and to the surface to tend after crops in the sunny months.

Outer Valley

Tyrn Cha is at the northernmost edge of a boreal forest. During the spring and summer, the surface snowmelt gives way to choppy streams and gurgling sinkholes. It has a lush berry season and inviting hikes.

Inner Bazaar
Subnivean Wilderness

Sandwiched between the ancient coral fields grown earlier in Jhoutai's planetary developments, the subnivean wilderness is home to most of the arctic.

Hot Springs

There are multiple within the city, often with Bath Houses built over them.

Oracle Chambers

An extension of the hot-springs. The Maidens immerse themselves in these waters to meditate and strengthen their Divination.

History

Procession Quarry

Originally built as a quarry by the by the Vadakendanic Procession to support the construction of the Hierophant Palace to the South. As the Palace established, the Quarry was roofed over and turned into a town.

When the Procession fell, the Quarry was abandoned. It became untenable to support a population there, especially amid repeat incursions by Khytask's army.

Forgotten Ruins

Left for years, the lonely ruins morphed in an Old Home beckoning passers by into living there.

Malisyk Stronghold

Murder's like: "owo, stwonghold?"

Maiden Takeover

But the Maidens didn't like that.

Modern Metropolis

And now things are good.
