Originating from the union of certain Diiv Anne and Diiv Amyra with the Lineages of Aethyr, the Elves are a collection of peoples with similarly pointy ears, keen senses, and a natural litheness that neither humans nor beast folk can often compete with. Considered to be fully of the lineage of eldyr, the Elves often prefer the kinship between each other than that seen in other races, and in Elvish call all Elven Folk the "Dai" (Diri for plural).
Unlike humans or beast folk, the Elves originate much, much earlier in Ethenrean history than most would care to admit, making their appearance during the height of the Mai'jiinic Empire, a race of Phase Dragons that were known to be slavers, using the fae for vile practices and using many of their body parts for alchemical practices. It is no surprise that the Elves begin to appear during the height of this empire, though it fell soon after as the Lands of the Aethyr rose above the sky to defend against those Diiv, and then the Elemental Lord of Acid isolating their home from Valoreum or Eveynjar. Each race of elves can be traced to specific interactions with each race of Diiv that employed or enslaved certain races of fae to make each respective race of elves.
Interestingly, it is their fae blood that makes Elves able to reproduce with other races, creating new races within their wake, though that collection is known as Half-elves and are their own sub-lineage.
