A race hailing from the lands of Fahliilenjar, the Muridiri or Dark Elves are one of the various elven races from the Sourthern Nation of Elves. Called Dark Elves due to their darkened skin tone, the Muridiri have no connection to elemental darkness, instead possessing a connection to Time magic, though this magic is still believed to derive from Void magics. Descended from the Kellokians or Time Dragons, the Muridiri are often avoided or persecuted outside of their homelands, as it is believed that their ancestors heavily contributed to the Fall of Valoreum.
Connected heavily to the flow of time, Muridiri are incredible at using Time magic, being adept Diviners, Seers, and Thaumaturgists. However, this seems to leave them vulnerable to bright light, with many Muridiri preferring the dark forests and jungles of Fahliilenjar to that of the brighter regions that surround the southern nation. Due to this sunlight sensitivity, many races believe them to be cursed, as a consequence to the vile necromantic magics the Kellokians dabbled in before the Fall of Valoreum.
Muridiri culture, and subsequently Fahliilen culture, is said to be one of the most inclusive cultures found throughout Eveynjar, alongside Kalthic and Zuraori culture. However, this has also lead to a culture centered around having no political correctness, no filter, and no reservations. This makes for an interesting combo, and many foreigners seldom understand what seems to them to be a race of incredibly rude but somehow nice people, as Muridiri are incredibly giving in nature.
With their lands in Fahliilenjar, the Muridiri alongside their brethren the Maaridiri, Naaludiri, and Syndiri haven't always been a free nation. Before the rise of the Kalthic Empire, Fahliilenjar was a fragmented land run by tribal peoples, and prone to war and raiders. When the Kalthic empire invaded the region, they brought with them their ideals and culture, spreading new ideas to the elven, human, and beast folk that lived their. Now, Fahliilenjar is an incredibly inclusive land that cares little for the difference in form between its peoples, with the Muridiri being one of the most prominent races in political positions.
Like the Maaridiri, the Muridiri have more traditional elven names, though their accents have a distinct Australian sound.
