The Crockorus are a race crocodile folk that generally live around most waterways of Eveynjar and some parts of Valoreum, though it seems that Indeljar is too far north for them. They live in close-knit tribes that generally keep to themselves, though the Crockorus as a who are said to be lively and thoroughly enjoy the sound of music and celebrations.
Patient and Ruthless
Most individuals within the Crockorus are very patient folk, easily able to wait for the right timing on conversations or hunts to strike. Playing as a Crockorus, it is important to not this patience while role playing the croc folk, potentially using Determination and Tactics more than you would persuasion or deception to get your point across. The best part about this is, that in combat, this can apply to how you attack, focusing on one enemy, and then changing target only once the current target is vanquished.
Incredibly Durable
All Crockorus have the incredibly tough hides of crocodiles, giving them a much more reptilian appearance than even Saurians or Testoideans. This hide is a combination of scutes and osteoderms that make your hide like trying to pierce chain mail. This incredible natural armor makes Crockorus incredibly hard to damage, but also make them much slower on land.
Deal Makers
Like all on Ethenrea, the Crockorus have a storied past, dating back to the Fall of Valoreum. On the sidelines until the fall of the nation of Wolfenholm at the hands of the Raptoran, the Crockorus quickly allied themselves with the invaders, making incredibly strong pacts in the places they cohabitated. The most notable of these pacts is called the Amorim Pact, where the Gane Clan of the Crockorus made a pact with the Kama Clan of Dhasha Raptoran, creating a small republic that would eventually be taken over by the Empyrians.
Lifestyle
An average Crockorus community generally don't exceed 200 individuals, though more urban Crockori may live in more dense populations. Crockorus start their life off as eggs, hatched carefully by their devoted parents. The Crockorus' gender, much like crocodiles, is heavily dependent on the temperature they eggs were incubated at.
On maturity at 15 years, many Crockori strike it out on their own, either finding a new community to better suit their needs or making a new settlement.
Crockorus Names
Crockorus names consist of a personal name and a clan name. Each Clan is associated with a region rather than a particular subrace (called tribes), though some clans may only include one tribe due to that tribe or clan's isolation. All Crockorus speak a language known a Crench, and all Crockorus names are from that language.
According to Rymill, Crench has been described as French with the hissing, snarling, and bellowing sounds of crocodilians.
