The Jondai or Pråhåkuskra in their own tongue are a race that resembles the Yetis of the Himalayas. They live in the frozen lands of Northern Eveynjar, and are known to be powerful Bards, Cryomagus, and Druids due to their powerful Thu'um and high affinity for ice and life magic. To most outsiders, they seem stoic and intimidating, but in reality they are far from it. They care deeply about all life and are very sensitive folk. As such, they very seldom actually kill anything. However, if it is in defense of another being, they cannot stand idle.
Along with the Sondai and Yandai, the Jondai were originally mistaken to be a form of elf, as they possess pointed ears that are generally perceived as the hallmark of a fae-descended race. However, it is now believed that the Jondai along with their other kin are actually troll-folk, as their bestial blood makes them more aligned with the Whale-trolls seen across Eveynjar, and those also possess thick fur, tusks, and pointed ears.
Despite this similarity, the Jondai are incredibly at peace with nature, preferring cohabitation with other races than competition. However, should the need arise, their powerful builds make confrontations mostly short and one-sided.
Despite their people being around since the Fall of Valoreum, the Jondiri as a whole have never left the comforts of Indeljar. Being incredibly adapted for cold weather, most Jondiri cannot cope with the considerably warmer weathers found just south in Empyria and Yllithr. Even during the summers of Indeljar, many a Jondai need to shave down their winter coast so as not to overheat. However, due to the warmth of this fur, many will sell their shavings to tailors and weavers to make warm clothing and rugs, and due to its softness it is highly sought after by men, elves, and warm-weather beast folk like the Panthranis and Crockorus.
There is little difference in the ideals and customs of the Jondiri from their brethren the Nordtmen and Dvardai.
In ages past, the Jondiri have defended their northern homes from the land invaders. After the fall of the Wolvenholm Empire, they have kept Indeljar safe from the likes of Yllithr and Empyria, which have caused the peoples of Indeljar to be more isolationist than many of the southern nations like Yandaijar and the Kalth.
