Scorpaeus
Scorpeus are a scorpion-esc race that dwell in remote areas across Eveynjar due to the process of their upbringing. They possess shear-like mandibles, a stinger attached to the center of the spine, a pair of pincer arms, and chitinous armor that is indistinguishable from normal skin. They go through multiple metamorphoses that go from their animalistic juvenile stage, pupal adolescent stage, and humanoid adult stage. Due to their pupal stage, they become more antisocial, but do not mind others and often enjoy friends.
Scorpaeus are one of the few races that live almost everywhere. They don’t care what land they live in, they are happy. That being said, few races care to have them near due to their frightening appearance. They often can find friends among the Emperials, who realize their potential to demoralize the enemy.
Their appearance is not just for show. Due to their chitinous appearance, they have natural armor that they can bolster with their metal affinity, making them easily the hardest beast race to kill. They also can use their pincers as natural weapons, and are governed by the blades skill.
Like their scorpion look-alikes, Scorpaeus glow in the presence of ultraviolet light. Though this has no beneficial value for the Scorpaeus, it adds to their unnerving nature, and further demoralizes their enemies.

Growth Rate & Stages
Scorpeus reach maturity around 20 years of age and live to an age of 120. Scorpeus though they have a powerful stinger that towers over their head, their actual body is sized at medium, with heights only slightly taller than humans. However, due to their metallic chitin they weigh as much as a large creature. Also due to their claws, Scorpeus have a dig speed of 30ft per turn.
